Fatal Flaw (fears.min.1)
1. Holding grudges. She can hold a grudge her entire life unless she finds that the person in question has “redeemed” themselves, which can be very hard depending on the reason behind her grudge. She can’t properly cooperate with someone she has a grudge against to save her life.
Natalia is a fun-loving girl who loves to laugh. Though she is not the best of the pranksters the Hermes cabin has produced she can hold her own and she’s always up for helping out with putting a good plan to use. While not as outgoing as many others she’ll talk to anyone as long as she doesn’t dislike them. However it takes a while before she warms up to someone and actually sees them as a friend. She doesn’t like friendly touches from people she’s not close with, and even if she is close with someone she doesn’t like it if it comes as a surprise. It makes her uncomfortable and if it happens she’ll either go stiff and stop talking or lash out at the person responsible.
While Lia has toned down on the amount of things she steals, it’s still something that’s second nature for her to do. Nowadays she mostly gives the stuff she’s stolen back once she’s done with it, if it isn’t money or something edible. Sometimes she likes to pickpocket people while having a conversation just to show them what they didn’t notice her taking.
She doesn’t like being seen as a coward. Because of this she doesn’t like backing down from a dare. She’s done plenty of stupid things in the past because of someone daring her to do them. It’s usually hard to reason with her once she’s dared to do something, which can potentially lead to dangerous situations. Another thing that can put her in danger is her tendency to hold grudges. She simply can’t cooperate properly with someone she has a grudge against, even if that would be the only way to save her life.
Powers
Like most children of Hermes Natalia has the ability to speed travel. Her accuracy isn’t the best, but if she concentrates she usually ends up within a 500 yard radius of where she was aiming to go. Funnily enough, her accuracy tends to be the best if she is in a situation where she fears for her life.
Aside from her ability to speed travel she, like Hermes’ children tend to be, is a natural at pranks, picking locks, and stealing without getting caught. She’s especially well versed with stealing, as it’s something she has relied on a lot during her life. She rarely ever gets caught, and if she does it’s never by an ordinary human.
History
Claimed? Yes
How many years have they been at Camp? 4
Other family members: Jonathan Davis (stepfather), Maria Davis (mother)
100 words minimum of their history leading up to camp:
Maria never meant to get pregnant. She never meant to cheat on her soon-to-be husband. But it still happened and a week after the wedding she knew for sure she was pregnant. When Maria told Jonathan about the pregnancy, he was thrilled. He was hoping to start a family. As the pregnancy progressed Maria grew more and more uneasy with the thought of raising a child. When Natalia was born Maria saw how happy Jonathan was to hold his child in his arms. She couldn’t look him in the eye because she knew the truth.
When Natalia was about 9 months old her mother left. When her father came home he found her crying in the crib and a letter on the kitchen table. That’s how he found out Natalia wasn’t his biological child. He still took care of her and loved her as his own.
The family hadn’t been wealthy to begin with, and when Natalia’s mother left they had to live on her stepfather’s salary. He worked long days, and she grew up spending the days with her grandmother. When she was 7 years old her grandmother died of cancer, and she had to get by on her own when not in school. She knew they were short on money, and as time passed she picked up a habit of shoplifting and pickpocketing because she didn’t want to ask her stepfather for money they didn’t really have.
One day when Natalia was 12 she came home from school only to find a strange woman in their apartment. Natalia got angrier and angrier as her father explained that the woman was her mother. She yelled something about her mother being dead to her and ran to her room, slamming the door shut. She had hated her mother as long as she could remember for leaving them, and the hatred only grew stronger when she actually met Maria.
After the day Maria came back into Natalia’s life she started getting into more and more trouble at school. She hated the way her mother started trying to control everything the minute she walked in. Her stepfather let Maria make all the choices which Lia didn’t like, but Lia couldn’t bring herself to be mad at him even if she didn’t understand how he could forgive Maria. The school contacted her parents several times about her stealing other students’ things and hiding them around the school or about other things she did that disturbed class and the other students.
The day Natalia got kicked out of school at 13 was the day Maria decided to send her to Camp Half-Blood. When Lia came home she found her mother and some kid. Her mother handed her a backpack packed with some of her things and told Lia that she’d had enough and that Lia needed to leave with the kid. Lia grabbed the backpack and left without a word.
Lia and the kid, who she would learn was a satyr, made it to Camp Half-Blood without any big problems. Finding out she was a demigod, or that something like that even existed was a big shock but she thought it was kind of exiting. Despite this she cried herself to sleep the first night thinking about how she didn’t even get to say goodbye to her stepfather. After about a few weeks at camp, when she was starting to get a hang of how things worked and such, she was claimed by Hermes.
